LG G8s ThinQ Black

At the beginning of 2019, LG released three phones. One of these is the G8s ThinQ, which features Hand ID. We haven't seen this way of unlocking anywhere else. When you place your hand above the phone, the phone will scan your hand and safely unlock your G8s.

You can use the front camera to take selfies, but also for face recognition. The 3.5mm jack at the bottom is very useful for music lovers, and the screen is perfect for watching your favourite Netflix show.

Hand ID because of ToF sensor

The Time of Flight and infrared sensors recognize your hand and your unique blood vessels. Because of this, you can unlock your phone without having to touch it, even when you're cooking! This feature can also be used for other things, like launching an app or controlling the volume.

Five camera sensors

The G8s ThinQ is equipped with five camera sensors, so you'll be able to take the perfect picture in every situation! The 8-megapixel camera on the front takes beautiful selfies and the special ToF sensor measures depth, which enables Hand ID and Air Motion. You can take normal pictures with the three cameras on the back, but also wide-angled or zoomed-in pictures, without losing quality.

6.2-inch OLED screen

The 6.2-inch display takes up a lot of space on the front, because there's a notch for the sensors. This means that the bezels are even smaller and, despite the large screen, you can still use the G8s with one hand. The Full HD+ display is also energy efficient thanks to OLED technology.

Snapdragon 855 processor

To make sure that no task is too difficult for the G8s, LG has equipped the phone with a Snapdragon 855 chipset. It has 6GB of RAM, so it can perform multiple tasks at the same time without any problems.

Glass design

Because the front and back of the phone are made from glass, the phone feels premium. The sides of the glass panels are rounded, so the front and back seamlessly flow into the metal casing. Because there are no sharp edges, the G8s is comfortable to hold.

Battery with a capacity of 3550mAh

The battery has a capacity of 3550mAh, which allows you to use it for a full day on a single charge. The USB-C port at the bottom ensures that you'll have enough power to last a full day in no time. Because the screen is energy efficient, your G8s will last even longer.

Enough storage space for the average user

128GB is plenty of storage space to store your favourite apps and a lot of photos. After using the phone for a while, you might run out of storage space. You can save more photos via cloud services.

Android Pie 9.0

The Android 9.0 operating system offers a lot of options for manufacturers like LG. The G8s Black comes with LG's UX skin, so the icons look a bit different. The menu is also slightly different, and the LG UX skin comes with some extra settings.
